Hello!
My name is Aris Spijker, and I am a born and raised Amsterdammer.
I was never much of an athlete as a child and teenager, but around the age of 20 I discovered my passion for sports in Calisthenics, bodyweight strength training.
After graduating as a historian, and spending five years managing in the hospitality industry, I decided to make my hobby, working out outdoors, my job.
Partly because of this, I developed broad interests in people and in the world.
In 2021, I founded my small business, Westerparkfit, out of my belief in all the beautiful aspects of working out outdoors. I felt that more people should experience those beautiful aspects.
In 2022, I began the Milo Performance & Education training program of the Vondelgym to further deepen my knowledge and become an officially certified personal trainer.
From Westerparkfit I now also offer personal training in Amsterdam Zuid and Amsterdam West, so that more people can experience how much freedom and energy outdoor exercise gives.
Besides my work, I have many interests and hobbies such as: traveling, music, philosophy, DJing, and going into nature.

The trainings are usually held in the Beatrixpark or the Vondelpark, two beautiful green areas in the middle of Amsterdam South with plenty of opportunities to train effectively. In consultation we can also divert to other parks or outdoor locations in the neighborhood, so it always fits your needs and travel time.
Yes, you can! Personal training doesn't always have to be solo. Duo training is very popular and small groups of up to three people are also possible. From four participants it takes more the form of a private group training. We are happy to discuss with you how you would like to organize it and what rates are appropriate.
Basically, we always work in blocks of 8 weeks with training schedules based on an intake in which goals, nutrition and lifestyle are discussed. This ensures commitment from both sides and also ensures the best results. Single training sessions are possible but have a higher rate as described above.
At least once a week is a good start. If you want faster results and want to learn more about movement and technique, I recommend training together twice a week. That way you'll get the most out of the program and you can reach your goals faster.
Yes, I am officially certified personal trainer through Vondelgym's Milo Performance & Education training program. This training is recognized by the European Register of Exercise Professionals (EREPS), an independent European quality registration for trainers. So you can be sure that you will receive professional and safe guidance.
